I’m Ange. A Reiki Practitioner and lover of balance, peace and meaningful growth.

I’ve been living in Ōtautahi (Christchurch) since 2020 and was born in Whanganui, Aotearoa. I started my own Reiki journey when I first visited Nepal in 2017.

I have the privilege of walking alongside people from all walks of life on a small but impactful part of their much larger journey. There are many different ways Reiki can be used, and anyone can learn Reiki. For me, I take an intuitive approach, which can involve working with karakia, clairsentience, crystals, chakras, aromatherapy, breathwork, sound healing, or pendulums to support my Reiki practice. No Reiki session is ever the same, so having a consultation process is essential to ensure you are fully informed of what to expect and to decide when you are ready to take the next step - it’s important to listen to your own intuition and move forward when and only if it feels right for you.

Our connections at Reiki & Breath are intentional, with aroha, and tailored to specific needs and desired outcomes. Each Reiki session is tailored to help you reconnect with your inner calm, restore energetic flow, and release what no longer serves you—our door is always open.

Establishing Reiki & Breath has been guided by heart-centred decisions with respect and acknowledgement of the teachers, friends, and kaumatua who have passed down many years of knowledge and guidance.

  • Welcome! Starting your Reiki journey is an exciting step toward holistic wellness. Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing practice that promotes relaxation and balance. There's no special preparation needed—just come with an open mind and comfortable clothing. During your session, you'll remain fully clothed while relaxing on a treatment table. Many first-timers feel a sense of deep calm, warmth, or tingling sensations as energy flows. It's completely normal if you feel emotional or fall asleep—your body knows exactly what it needs. After your session, drink plenty of water and give yourself time to rest and integrate the healing.

  • Your Reiki session typically lasts 60-90 minutes in a peaceful, comfortable setting. You'll lie fully clothed on a padded table while soft music plays in the background. I'll gently place my hands on or slightly above different areas of your body, working through the major energy centers (chakras) to promote balance and healing. You might experience warmth, coolness, tingling, or deep relaxation—everyone's experience is unique. Some people see colors or images, while others simply enjoy profound peace. There's no right or wrong way to experience Reiki. After the session, we'll discuss what you felt and any insights that came through.

  • Not at all! Reiki works beautifully whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced practitioner. You don't need to understand how energy works, believe in anything specific, or have any prior knowledge of chakras or healing modalities. Reiki meets you exactly where you are—your body's innate wisdom knows how to receive and use the energy for your highest good. All you need to do is relax and be open to the experience. Think of it like lying in the sun—you don't need to understand photosynthesis to feel the warmth and benefit from the light. Many of our first-time clients are pleasantly surprised by how natural and comfortable the process feels.

  • Regular Reiki sessions offer cumulative benefits for your physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. Physically, clients often experience reduced pain and tension, improved sleep, boosted immune function, and faster recovery from illness or injury. Emotionally, Reiki helps release stored stress and trauma, reduces anxiety and depression, and brings greater emotional clarity and resilience. Spiritually, many people report feeling more connected to themselves and their purpose, experiencing heightened intuition, and finding deeper inner peace. The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs—some clients come weekly during challenging times, while others maintain balance with monthly or quarterly sessions.
